New original sketches!

My sweaty fingers (it's been hot, ok!) have been busy making some new sketches for the shop...

This one is perfect for a graduation gift.
And So The Adventure Begins

This describes me perfectly!
Sometimes I pretend to be normal. But it gets boring, so I go back to being me.

Inspired by the hot weather and sweaty fingers...

I hope you all have sunshine in your souls this weekend πŸ’œ☀️
There's sunshine in my soul today!

Sweaty hugs and kisses

Alternative Dinosaurs Colouring Book Contest!

So, this is going to print next week. I wondered if we fancied a little competition?
Colour these, front and back and the very best one will win a £20 voucher from the shop. If one entrant absolutely fits the bill then I'll use it for the actual cover!
The photos here will be grainy/low res so if you fancy a bash at it then download the bigger ones in the link below (because if you win I don't want it to be grainy!). I've blown up the link ones to A4 but the final thing will be A5 (to make it sharper).
Obviously to go to print it really has to be proper awesome, like crayon or something funny or doodle in between or SOMETHING. I dunno, inspire me?
T&Cs: This is nothing to do with Facebook in any way. If you win and it's awesome enough for printing then you agree to letting me print the cover using your colouring skillz and I'll need a high resolution scan or the original popping in the post. Winner receives a £20 voucher for Paper Panda. No cash alternative available becoz I aint got any innit. If the final piece goes to print then your name will be credited on the back. Need entries in by Monday afternoon please (12th June).
Here's the link!

Post your efforts on our Facebook page here!

On the subject of dinosaurs, there's six new original sketches available in the shop. Mike, Keith, Walt, Oliver, Hislop and Craig. You'll not believe what Mike's real name is... ;)

Sweet dreams peeps, 'til next week!

Template Time!

So, it's June now, which means *woop woop* new Surprise Template!
It's a playful design, featuring... some animals... cripes, I've said too much already, eek!
It's only one English Spondoolick (new post-Brexit currency?) so don't miss out, only available at this bargain price for this month.

Another new template is this intricate 'Dia De Los Muertos' design with skulls, flowers and butterflies. Commonly known as the 'Day of the Dead', this is a traditional Mexican celebration and the beautiful sugar skull designs have become famous the world over.

Another sugar skull design for you this month is 'Sugar Skull Dreams', which was previously our May Surprise template. See, they're alright these £1 surprises!

We have almost 100 templates for you to browse over on our site, by us and our talented Guest Artists. Take a look!

See ya later! ;)

Dinosaurs and Birds...

I've been enjoying making these watercolour sketches this week!

The 'Alternative Dinosaurs' have been popular, and now I offer custom options.
Here you can see Derek, Poppy, James, Disco Ken, Janet, Hugo and Geoff.
So if you've always wanted to see yourself or a loved one represented as a cute colourful dinosaur, just give a name and a few quirky facts and I will do the rest.
Available here!

If birds are more your style, I have a custom option on the family of birds sketch too. However many members your flock has, they can be represented in watercolour style with shiny foil details.
Get yours now!

I really love making these, the vivid colours are perfect for this season.
Can't wait to see what you come up with for your custom :)

Well, back to it!

Winner winner winner!

Over on t'Book of Face a few days ago, I held a little contest to win one of three of these Hitherto Unseen prints. I asked you give names to the two little toadstool characters, and I've picked my three favourites!

Ashley Romereim suggested Rua and TintrΓ, which are Gaelic words meaning red and fiery! Just perfect for these two characters, sums them up perfectly.

Jerome Murphy gave them the names Ceps and Morel, which sound suitably fantasy-like, and are also names of actual mushrooms. Clever!

Gill Walker chose Pinny and Bib, to reflect that they are Crimson Pinafore mushrooms. So cute!

Congrats to all three winners, your prints are on the way!

Thank you to everyone who suggested names, there were so many brilliant ones it was hard to choose just three.

Prints are available to purchase here - Crimson Pinafore

Have a great weekend!

Music is what feelings sound like!

Okay so the photo is pretty terrible but forgive me as I'm relegated to the darkest corner of the house. It could be 30 degrees outside and the photos on my desk would still look like this. Sucks huh? Great in Winter when you can chuck a bit of holly on the corner and et voila, but now? Not so much.

This original sketch, "Music Is What Feelings Sound Like" featuring Olive the snail with little watercolour musical notes is now £100 in the sale, reduced from £160. 🐌
I've been dabbling with holographic foil and watercolour today, but you'd already know that and quite possibly would have bagged one for £20 if you were following us on Patreon πŸ˜œ
*Sashays away*
If you're not lucky enough to bag the original sketch, there's always the template of the same name for you to try. It's a lovely big one, with the opportunity to use lots of colours in the background, while bum-dancing to your favourite tunes! I'd love to see when you've had a go. Share your photos in our friendly Facebook group 😊

I've been busy working on custom sketches for you lovely lot, I'm always intrigued by the design ideas you come up with! Available in ACEO size or a larger square style, if you've ever wanted to see my stretch my drawing fingers beyond the Woodland Friends, get your request in soon.

I'd better get back to it - see you next week!

Paper Panda Newsletter!

On the third Sunday of every month, we will be sending out a newsletter to our subscribers. You can subscribe within your account on our website. The following Friday, I'll be posting the contents of the newsletter here on the blog in case you missed it :)

Welcome back to the Paper Panda newsletter!
After a brief hiatus *ahem* we are back to monthly newsletters again!
Hopefully! ;)

This month we saw the first template totally created by Mr P! It took him around 2 months to perfect these designs, from concept drawings to finished cut - yes, he's quickly becoming an accomplished cutter too - I think they're just stunning.
The collection is called 'Victorian Wild' and this is the first character released as a template - meet Mr Brown the bear.
Doesn't he look dapper in his bowler hat and tie?
Available as a digital template, and a physical kit complete with all the papers you need.

From 25th March to 7th May, Paper Panda papercuts will be exhibited at the picturesque Yorkshire manor house, Nunnington Hall,

alongside fellow paper artists handpicked to exhibit with me.

You'll be able to purchase the papercuts there too!

The largest sheet of handmade paper measures 14.95 x 10 metres and was made by the students of
Colegio Salesiano Don Bosco de Ypacarai, Paraguay, on 7 August 2015.
Around 250 students created the giant sheet of paper from recycled newspaper.
Imagine the frame you'd need for that!

These new sketch prints have been very popular. They're 13cm square and limited to only 30 of each. They come with a mini certificate of authenticity.
We only have a couple left at the moment, which sketches would you like to see in this format next?
Feeling even happier than a hedgehog in a hat!

I love this nail polish by Jessica, it's called Soigne and it's a beautiful pale grey shimmer. Delightful!
And a bargain too!

Official PP Miniaturist Loz has been at it again!
Her nimble fingers have created some more tiny versions of some favourite Paper Panda designs.
Loz is....just amazing. She may even be better than me, but don't tell her I told you so :)

That's it for now - see you next month!

Surprise Surprise!

The first of a new month has just swung round, and that means a new surprise template!

It gets better this month as we have also added a new surprise colouring sheet. How 'bout that for a cheeky little addition!

You can find them both here -

Coming soon!

Mr Panda has been working on a range of stylistic animals called Victorian Wild. There's four so far. This is Mr Brown in progress and he'll be a template kit available for you to make yourself very soon!

Keep your Friday peaceful, calm and serene.
Breathe in... and out.
Remove stressful thoughts from your mind.
Take in your surroundings.
Stay grateful and humble.
Learn from the past, but don't dwell on it.
Have a cup of tea (and a biscuit, or two).
The weekend will soon be here.

Getting to know you, getting to know all about you...

You may have seen on our Facebook page a few new posts in the our new getting to know you series. We are using this to spotlight our guest artists. We've sent them all some questions to answer.

I've left a blank copy of the questions at the bottom, feel free to answer them in the comments!

Lee-Ann of Not Just Paper Boutique.

3. If you could create any celebrity using your chosen craft, who would it be?

5. Would you eat a spider for £100? Nope . Really, really nope. Unless it was made of jelly ? Would it be made of jelly?

Sue Mclearie

I have conversations with my creations as I work and they are always mischevious. In my wibbly, wobbly world, they are quite real!

Rebecka Hathaway!

You are never too old to start to live your dreams. But you have to start.

What do I do in my spare time....?

For years I've never been able to answer the question 'What do you do with your spare time?' because I've always just been too busy working.
I seem to have recently found a hobby in embroidery. I've never made anything just for me before and it's wonderfully refreshing to just create something with no pressure to make it for someone else.
I started in January doing the #1yearofstitches project wh
ere you add at least a stitch per day to your hoop, a bit like a diary. Well I finished my 'year' in three weeks, it was so addicting! I purposely didn't look up stitches or techniques because I didn't want to feel overwhelmed or inadequate but just ploughed into it, making it up as I went along, freestyling. SO ENJOYABLE!
So now, well, it had to be a hare as my first real project, didn't it?
So if you see the midnight oil burning at Panda Barn you know there's little animals being created with a thousand tiny stitches...

Exciting collaboration!

Emily and I have been busy on our new collaboration! She uses her magical shiny calligraphy skills to add the golden text,
then I add a sketch of our favourite Woodland Friends.
What do you think?
